2021 has been a great year for Mandao, despite the pandemic and the different problems we have faced as a consequence. By adapting to the situation and looking for solutions, we have been able to establish ourselves as a company within a new economic context.
2021: A year of growth for Mandao
Our business has not stopped growing and the results can be seen by analyzing the numbers for this year. Mandao closes 2021 with more than 300 restaurants available to buy food in Cuba and more than 70 thousand new users. On the other hand, this year we launched a new version of our app to improve the experience of our users, customers and couriers.
September 2019 seems far away, when Mandao emerged as a Cuban bike courier business, a simple, fast and safe proposal to fill an almost non-existent niche in Cuba. Two years later, Mandao has become a technology and delivery service company and one of the first Mypime in Cuba.
More presences in different provinces
Despite the difficulties of this 2021, in Mandao we have been able to increase our presence on the island: from being only in Havana and Holguin, now you can also use our services in Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara and Trinidad, to cover a total of 22 municipalities. Another feature of Mandao is its ability to generate jobs and contribute to the well-being of the families of the team members. In addition, with our undertaking we have supported other businesses to survive during an unfavorable epidemic scenario.
We expand our business lines
The fundamental objective of Mandao is «to connect people through the things they need.» For this reason, this year, we created the company’s business lines and expanded the existing ones. Although we started distributing food from restaurants, today we also have a Green Line in charge of managing the Agros (this year we added two new markets in Havana), the Baskets (with various proposals focused on the needs of our customers) and the Farms. (at the moment with Finca Vista Hermosa); on the other side, we have El Mercadito, where more than 200 products are available that seek to satisfy the demands of the Cuban family. To these two lines of business, we add a third: Mandao Express, with which it is possible to send, through Mandao, packages, meals prepared from home, documents, tools, and any «mandate» that fits in our backpacks and complies with the service requirements.
This 2021 was a year of achieving goals, where we also realized that there is still pending work. That is why we will start 2022 aiming to improve our services, and to meet all the demands of our public.
